Closely related to the conjure hand, mojo bag and gris gris, a toby is another kind of charm designed to be carried on your person. The toby is constructed for a specific purpose and filled with powerful ingredients. It differs from a mojo, conjure hand and gris gris in that it is quite small - only about and inch to an inch and a half in size - and it is sewn closed. Once it contains all of the necessary components and is sewn closed, it is then ritually "awakened" through smudging, feeding, petitions, prayers and finally breathing into it.
