• Create an Ancestor Space: Dedicate a small part of your home for a white candle, a glass of water, and perhaps a cherished photo or heirloom. This altar becomes a portal of remembrance and communication.
• Offer Light and Water: Candles and clear water are traditional gifts—the light guides, the water refreshes. Change the water regularly to keep the connection pure.
• Speak Their Names: Whether known or unknown, say their names aloud or simply address “my ancestors, known and unknown.” This act invites them forward to share their help.
• Ask for Guidance: Write your question or concern, fold the paper toward you, and place it on the altar. Watch for dreams, intuitive nudges, or signs in your daily life.
• Express Gratitude: When guidance or comfort comes, thank your ancestors. Gratitude strengthens the bridge between worlds.
