Lightning struck wood is a powerful curio
within Hoodoo and Native American traditions. It can be added to any work to increase its power. It is particularly good for commanding spells, sex spells, protection, defense, and spells of destruction, which draw on its fire energy to destroy. Fire also has a dual nature to transform; hence its ability to be used in positive, creative works. We have an unending supply of this curio, and how we happened to procure our most recent supply is quite the story.
One evening as I was relaxing amidst the tranquility of my home, I jumped out of bed in a moment of surprise as a sudden, thunderous boom echoed through the air. Rushing to the window, I witnessed a dazzling display of nature's power – a tree, once majestic, exploded into a spectacular burst of wooden splinters, shattered by a bolt of lightning. The ethereal dance of electric energy had transformed the serene scene into a spectacle
of pure, raw force.
Recognizing the sacred nature of the Thunder Beings, I decided to honor them with a heartfelt offering. The enchanted splinters became more than mere fragments – they became conduits of resilience and shield against unseen adversities. I began gathering as many of the shattered fragments of lightning struck wood I could find. Each piece holds not only the tale of the thunderstruck tree but
also the essence of a sacred offering to the Thunder Beings.
I now marvel at the unexpected journey of protection that began with a thunderous boom. A tree sacrificed, Thunder Beings honored, and a protection curio born – a testament to the profound magick hidden within the dance of elements, waiting to be discovered and shared with those seeking a touch of enchantment in their lives.
